Ron White Tickets - Scoop Up Some Fresh 'Tater Salad'

By: Brent Warnken

Ron White likes a good scotch, a cigar and loves to tell a good joke. The stand-up comedian's act is the perfect complement to any happy hour, and with two Grammy nominations and a book on The New York Times Bestseller list, he's out to prove his point. White earned a place on the stage next to Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, and since then his act has really taken off. Swirl your smoky scotch and laugh along with the rest of crowd when you get your Ron White tickets online.

Known as "Tater Salad" from his three onstage counterparts, White offers his hilarious insights into "redneck" mentalities and mutters bitter observational-style humor while clutching a cigar and perching a double old-fashioned glass of scotch on his knee. White has scheduled a series of club appearances for 2010, including stops at the Warfield in San Francisco, the Roberts Orpheum Theater in St. Louis, the A.V. Club in Washington D.C. and the Terry Fator Theatre at the Mirage in Las Vegas.

While his star status is a rather recent occurrence, Ron White has always been a storyteller. He grew up in a small Texas town where he started honing his skills as a jokester. In later years found his path by driving to tiny venues throughout the country in his old, beat-up Nissan pick-up truck. He led the life of a struggling comedian for many years, until getting an invitation from the Blue Collar Comedy man Jeff Foxworthy.

White joined forces with the three other comedians (Foxworthy, Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy) as they embarked on the comedy tour from January 2000 to March 2003. The show ended up playing to sold-out crowds in over 90 cities across the nation. The live tour was filmed by Warner Brothers and was later released as a major motion picture in theaters, eventually broadcasting on Comedy Central.

In addition to his appearances with the Blue Collar Comedy guys, White has also released several solo projects including Tater Salad aka Busted in Des Moines, Drunk in Public, They Call Me "Tater Salad," You Can't Fix Stupid and Ron White: Behavioral Problems. The latter was the most recently released, in April of 2009. White is full of plenty of hilarious jokes; one of funniest comes from his They Call Me Tater Salad release: "I believe that if life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade...and try to find somebody whose life has given them vodka, and have a party."

White's book has also helped gain him popularity. Called I Had the Right to Remain Silent...But I Didn't Have the Ability, it made the New York Times Bestseller list and weaves together material from his stand-up acts as well as personal stories from his youth.

If you're feeling glum, you may be in need of a healthy dose of laughter. See where Tater Salad is performing next and reserve your spot at one of his many shows.
